Vertical Drains (PVD) are geocomposites consisting of an inner polypropylene core wrapped in a non-woven geotextile fiber fabric, manufactured by Techfab India Industries Ltd at a state-of-the-art facility in Daman. These prefabricated vertical drains are designed to possess high permeability and sufficient drainage capacity to allow pore water to escape horizontally toward the nearest drain.

Once the water reaches the drain, it flows freely in a vertical direction along the drain’s core to a drainage blanket placed on the soil surface or to a highly permeable layer situated above or below the clay stratum. We manufacture two main types of PVD: Corrugated PVD and Fishbone PVD.
